Funky fairy

Today I have put together a two tier topsy turvy cake, topped off with the funky fairy that I shared with you the other day.  The cake was airbrushed in electric pink and gold and it was great fun to do.  We will be transporting it down to Devon on Sunday morning where we will be celebrating Gracie's 4th birthday on the beach at Beer.

I have also put the finishing touches to a Thomas the Tank christening cake which I will upload tomorrow when it has been collected.

It's party time!

This week kicks off a run of birthdays in our house, the first of which is little Gracie's.  She will be 4 on Sunday and starts  school on Monday week.   So, today I have been working on toppers, flowers for the mini wedding cakes that I have coming up and a 'Funky Fairy' to sit on top of Gracie's  cake.  I am also going to be working on a christening cake this week with a 'Thomas The Tank' theme.

I'm Back!!!

It's seems like a very long time since I had something beautiful to share with you here on my blog.  My kitchen is just awaiting worktops and MOST of the decorating is finished.  Thanks to my wonderful friend Pauline and her kindness I have managed to finish a huge wedding cake this week in record time, allowing me to get out into the garden Thursday and Friday and tackle the triffids.

It has been really difficult to produce anything over the last few weeks, and it has been a real treat this week to have so much space to spread my chaos around.  Even my workroom is looking rather orderly, the only downside to the day is that my laptop has picked up a Trojan that I can't get rid of, so I am balancing the keyboard of our desktop on my lap in a make shift office.  I also don't have access to Photoshop so my pictures my not be quite a clean as usual.

The wedding cake I have been working on is travelling up to London this Friday for the daughter of Flora Bick a local specialist dyslexia teacher.  I have since learnt that the pictures I was provided with as my directive are form the famous Maisie Fantaise cake house in London.  So Scrummy Mummy has put her own twist on Maisie Fantaisie with quite stunning results (even if I do say so myself).

Finally, thank you once again Pauline for all your help this week, especially during my beautiful Nan's funeral and Nan God Bless, I love you, and I will REALLY miss you x

New beginnings and peaceful endings!

My new kitchen will be completed in two days time and is looking fantastic.  If anyone is looking for a kitchen fitter or a tiler in South Gloucestershire I could not recommend the lovely chaps that  have worked on my extension more highly.  All this excitement is tinged with sadness, as I lost my lovely 90 year old nan last Thursday (it was for her that I made the Deal or No Deal cake and the white rose giant cupcake).

I am going on a long awaited holiday this weekend and when I get back I will be working on a very simple, but beautiful wedding cake for a lovely couple that live in London.

I have invested in a airbrusher during my time out and I am really excited about all the wonderful new effects that I am going to be able to create with it.
